You’re relocating to a house with security alarms
A new home may come with an installed security system. All the components function well, are placed in the right places, and are ready to go. In this example, just pick up the phone to call and set up a new monitoring contract. A Vivint expert will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration problems, and they might offer ideas on upgrades. It's a fast visit, and you can have your monitoring set up without worrying about any new devices -- unless you get some new devices.
The outgoing homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small transfer cost to make your life easier. If the previous owners downsize to an apartment or smaller home, transferring the Vivint contract may be an addendum of the sale.
You are looking to move and take your existing equipment with you
You might want to bring along your existing Vivint system with you to your new house when you move. It should be fairly easy to accomplish, as most alarms and smart devices are wireless. You can uninstall each device by yourself or contact a professional expert to come and take down the system. Then an expert will set up the same components -- and any smart items you need to add -- in your new house. And your home security contract will stay the same.
